Deb and I traveled just over 3,000 miles this summer. We left Sunday July 30 and returned August 11. Our first stop was Nashville to visit our friends Donny and Jessie. Next stop was Columbus to see Deb's Dad, we stayed nearby with her Aunt Charlotte and Uncle John. During our stay there we also saw other friends and family including my sister Beth in Columbus and then my son Matt and his girlfriend Katy who are attending Ohio University in Athens. We had lunch with them and hiked through Old Mans Cave near Athens Ohio. On Friday we left Columbus and went to Chagrin Falls (east of Cleveland) to visit with my mom. We had a wonderful Wine Down Friday night and left the next morning for upstate NY where my sister Yvonne lives. She had earned credit points from the Courtyard by Marriott and put us up for free. That was a nice place to stay. We almost forgot to visit with Yvonne and Jimmy (her boy friend from high school, that found her after no contact for 30 years). Jimmy surprised us when he gave us the oak file cabinet for our kitchen. He also gave us a tour of the many vineyards surrounding the Finger Lakes region of upstate NY. From there we ventured along the coast of lake Ontario stopping at a bed and breakfast on Sodus Bay. That's where we saw the Chimney Cliffs. Then our last stop was back at moms to celebrate her 78th birthday with Claire and the kids. We had a wonderful time, but we did inform everyone that next year we were traveling to somewhere other then Ohio, maybe Denver Colorado.
